The Noel Shore of Nova Scotia has deep connections to World War II, with its coastal communities playing a vital role in the war effort.  Remnants of wartime history, including stories of U-boat sightings in the Bay of Fundy, continue to be shared. The Noel Shore is also known for having the highest tides in the world and was named by the Acadians, who built a network of dykes to reclaim fertile farmland from the tides — a remarkable feat of early engineering.
