Are you busy next weekend? March 29 th at 7pm or 30 th at 2 pm?

If you are looking for a bit of entertainment, join us in Maitland at the High Tides Centre for an unusual rendition of “The Cremation of Sam McGee.” I say unusual because last year the play was called “The Cremation of Sam McGee-A Love Story” And this year; well come and find out!

I am happy to return to the stage this year as the Narrator of the tale. I thought the role would be easier than memorizing lines, but you really need to be on the ball and not get caught up in the show yourself. I quite enjoy these shows in local theatre because I meet new folks and catch up with the others I already know. We are definitely amateurs, but we put our hearts and souls into the roles we are given to ensure a pretty awesome show.

We show up each week to rehearse, unless we are sick of course and we find time to visit our local costumier for the perfect outfit. This show wowed me last year, and I hope this version will wow folks too.

If you haven’t been to a show at the High Tides Centre maybe this is the time. We have professional seating, lights, sound and backdrops created by talented locals. This spot has hosted big name music and continues with lots of music events.

I love seeing local support local. We have so many wonderful entertainment opportunities, there is usually something for everyone.
